Mark Privott, OD, Dipl ABO

Dr. Mark Privott has spent his career caring for the eyes—and getting to know the families—of the Bethany community. A lifelong Oklahoman, Dr. Privott graduated from McLoud High School before earning both his Bachelor of Science in Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah.

Throughout his career, Dr. Privott has remained committed to providing comprehensive, personalized eye care. He believes that excellent care begins with taking the time to know his patients, understand their concerns, and help them make informed decisions about their vision and eye health. His clinical experience includes comprehensive eye examinations, contact lenses, glaucoma and ocular disease management, diabetic eye care, emergency eye care, and pre- and post-operative care.

Dr. Privott is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and has continually emphasized access to high-quality specialty and surgical eye care when his patients need it.

Service has also been an important part of Dr. Privott's life outside the exam room. He served in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, retiring at the rank of Colonel, and has been actively involved in the Bethany community for many years. From 2017 through 2024, he served on the Bethany Economic Development Authority, including service as its Chairman, and has also been involved with the local Chamber of Commerce and his church.

When he is away from the office, Dr. Privott enjoys staying active through golf, pickleball, and walking his dog. He and his wife also enjoy traveling, hiking, and spending time with their granddaughter.

For Dr. Privott, practicing optometry has always been about more than helping patients see clearly. It is about building lasting relationships and caring for patients and families through every stage of life.

Bibin Cherian, OD, FAAO, Dipl ABO

After 5 years of caring for patients in Edmond, Dr. Bibin Cherian is excited to begin a new chapter practicing in Bethany and serving patients with all their eyecare needs. He values the trust patients place in him and believes exceptional care begins with listening, educating, and building long-term relationships.

Dr. Cherian provides comprehensive eye care with a focus on specialty contact lenses, dry eye disease, and myopia management. He graduated from the Oklahoma College of Optometry (NSUOCO) in 2020 and completed a residency in ocular disease and refractive surgery. Whether helping a patient see comfortably in contact lenses for the first time, protecting a child’s vision as they grow, or developing a personalized treatment plan for chronic dry eye, his goal is to help every patient see clearly, comfortably, and enjoy life’s most meaningful moments.

Comprehensive Eye Care

Routine eye examinations are about much more than updating a glasses prescription. Dr. Cherian provides comprehensive examinations designed to optimize vision, evaluate eye health, and identify conditions that may not initially produce noticeable symptoms.

Specialty Contact Lenses

Have you previously been told that you cannot wear contact lenses? Dr. Cherian specializes in fitting customized contact lenses for patients with complex prescriptions, corneal conditions, dry eye disease, or previous difficulty wearing traditional contacts.

Depending on your eyes and lifestyle, options may include scleral lenses, rigid gas-permeable lenses, hybrid lenses, or other customized designs. His goal is to help patients achieve their clearest and most comfortable vision possible.

Dry Eye Care

Dry eye can cause burning, irritation, fluctuating vision, redness, excessive tearing, and difficulty wearing contact lenses. Dr. Cherian has a special interest in identifying the underlying causes of dry eye rather than simply treating the symptoms.

He develops personalized treatment plans to improve tear-film health, reduce inflammation, and provide more lasting relief. Treatment may include prescription therapies, in-office treatments, specialty contact lenses, or customized home-care recommendations.

Myopia Management

Myopia, commonly called nearsightedness, often progresses throughout childhood and can increase the risk of eye disease later in life. Dr. Cherian works closely with children and their parents to develop individualized plans designed to slow myopia progression.

Treatment options may include overnight orthokeratology lenses, specialized daytime soft contact lenses, low-dose atropine eye drops, specialized glasses, or a combination of therapies. Each plan is tailored to the child’s vision, eye health, lifestyle, and individual risk factors.

Ocular Disease

Dr. Cherian completed advanced residency training in ocular disease and refractive surgery. He diagnoses and manages a wide range of eye conditions, including red eyes, infections, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, corneal disorders, and urgent eye concerns.

He believes patients should understand what is happening with their eyes and takes the time to clearly explain each diagnosis, available treatment options, and the recommended next steps.

ABOUT DR. CHERIAN

Dr. Bibin Cherian was born in India and moved to Oklahoma at the age of two. He graduated from Mustang High School before earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Central Oklahoma.

After realizing that his dreams of NBA stardom were becoming increasingly unlikely, he began shadowing professionals in several healthcare fields. He ultimately fell in love with optometry because it allowed him to build lasting relationships with patients while helping protect and improve something as meaningful as their vision.

Dr. Cherian earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry in Tahlequah. During optometry school, he served as national president of the American Optometric Student Association and participated in two eye-care mission trips to Honduras. He graduated in the top of the Class of 2020 and received the Golden Retinoscope Award for clinical excellence.

Following graduation, Dr. Cherian completed a residency in ocular disease and refractive surgery in Oklahoma City through BVA and nJoy Vision. This additional training provided extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of complex eye disease, surgical co-management, corneal conditions, and specialty contact lenses.

Dr. Cherian spent the first five years of his career caring for patients in Edmond. He is grateful for the relationships he developed there and is excited to bring that experience to Bethany, where he looks forward to caring for established patients, welcoming new families, and becoming an active part of the community.

He remains involved in the profession through leadership, education, and service. He has served in several roles within organized optometry and continues to support the advancement of patient care and new technology.

Outside of the office, Dr. Cherian enjoys spending time with his wife, who is also an optometrist at the OKC VA, and whom he met through an optometry conference. He enjoys watching sports, playing basketball, rewatching The Lord of the Rings and Marvel or DC movies, and spending time with his extended family. He is an active member of Redemption church and serves as a greeter. Although his cooking skills remain a work in progress, he loves trying great food and has a well-documented sweet tooth.
